The Tuna is IN!

The Tuna fleet is out trolling the warm waters off Winchester Bay bringing in good numbers of quality fresh albacore tuna. Now is the perfect time to throw some on the BBQ, pack some away in the freezer or do some home canning.

Albacore is great for canning and we can help plan your home canning adventure. Generally there is a 50% loss on albacore tuna in the head and spine, so a 20 lb. fish yields 10 pounds of meat which will be enough for 10 one pound pint jars or 20 half pint jars. So count your jars and estimate the number of pounds you'll need and then buy double that weight in fresh fish and you'll be good to go. Questions? Get in touch and we'll help you get started.

Pricing: Whole Fish are $2.25 lb. and we'll fillet them for you for an additional $0.35 lb.
